Lake Chad and the Chari River host much fishing

N'Djamena - Abéché - Lake Chad

Lake Chad

Not far from N’Djamena stands Lake Chad, a very important water source for the area.  Lake Chad is the home and workplace of local populations, and tourists have enjoyed the sights of Lake Chad for many years.  The lake is surrounded by wetlands and claims a large variety of wildlife and florae.  Lake Chad has slowly shrunk this century, and some estimates project it could be much smaller in only a few decades.  Lake Chad is bordered by Nigeria, Chad, Niger, and Cameroon, and the lake serves as a precious (and disputed) source for inhabitants of all of them.
