Abéché

Abéché lies in the far east of Chad.  It hosts an estimated 200,000 and has long been an important crossroads for commerce and travel.  Most recently, Abéché has served as the staging point for the massive aid operations serving Sudanese and Chadian displaced persons. Abéché is a popular tourist spot for those who are courageous enough to venture east into the country.
