Brussels, Belgium - The Chadian government has made available 7 billion CFA francs for the building, in N'Djamena, the Chadian capital, of a national museum and a big library, Djibert Younous, the Chadian Culture Minister, told PANA Friday in Brussels, at the end of an international conference on culture and development, attended by a strong Chadian delegation.
According to the minister, the government of President Idriss Deby also planned to build a production centre for use by Chadian film directors under its cultural policy.
Accompanying the Culture minister to the conference were sculptors, film directors and members of the Matania band, which won a gold medal at a recent Festival of the Community for Sahelo-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) in Niamey, Niger.
Apart from attending the meeting, the Chadian Culture minister participated in a meeting held by member countries of the Economic and Monetary Community for Central Africa (CEMAG) in Brussels.
